On January 29 I joined a panel at a conference hosted by the BIS and Executives’ Meeting of East-Asia Pacific Central Banks (EMEAP) to discuss supervisory challenges in today’s rapidly changing world. Also on the panel were Jane Magill (APRA), Lyn Javier (BSP), and others. We discussed the importance of supervisory judgment and balancing that with consistency, resource constraints, and the promise of technologies, like AI, to help.
